Mac Pro 2013 glass case concept is impractical but lustworthy

The Glass on Your Phone Is Actually Shrinking Before Your Very Eyes

Designer and 3D artist Martin Hajek thought so, and so cooked up some renders of the Mac Pro 2013 with its metal casing replaced, not only with glass and reminiscent of the G4 Cube Steve Wozniak is so enamored with but with perforated aluminum and even some sleek metallic finishes. The new Mac Pro isnt a stranger to tubular glass casings: after all, Apple used them to show off the pre-production hardware at WWDC 2013. In Hajeks concepts, however, the glass sleeve is a lot more form-fitting, effectively replacing the glossy aluminum casing that Apple has designed. Glass, of course, isnt going to do much for the Mac Pro 2013s cooling requirements. Apple has outfitted the new workstation with a single, large fan, that spins horizontally on top of the circular housing. That pulls cool air up, from the bottom of the Mac, and across the triangular cooling stack in the center, against which the two graphics cards and the mainboard are all fixed. However, where aluminum would allow some of the heat to radiate out from the new Mac Pro, a glass case would act more like a thermos flask, trapping it inside. Given there are already questions from some quarters about whether the single fan will be enough to cool the Xenon E processor and dual-GPUs, its probably too much to ask for an effective aftermarket glass casing.

How Google Glass Is Changing Medical Education

The third section of the FAQ page discusses the most sensitive topic about Glass privacy and security issues. Google has tried to eliminate the fears of its customers regarding security. It ensures that customers will have control over the information they share with Google. And while taking pictures and recording a video the Glasss screen will be illuminated. Also, Glass requires a command or an explicit action to make it work. Therefore, a non Glass owner can be informed if their picture is being taken by someone using a Glass.

No, neither did scientists, until now. Researchers have observed glass actually behaving like a liquid for the first time. You see, glass maybe a rigid, solid substance at room temperature, but its optical properties are given to it by the random nature of the assortment of silicon atoms within its matrix an amorphous solid as its known. Essentially, on the atomic scale, it looks like liquid despite being a solid. Now scientists have discovered that the potassium and sodium ions added into the Gorilla Glass mix to boost its durability, actually move after the glass is set. Immediately after the glass is spat out off the production line, the ions embedded in the glass exist in energetically unfavourable positions within the random array of silicon atoms. As energy levels always tend towards their lowest supported configuration it results in their slow shift into less energetic, more stable positions within your screen.

Introductory comments from Dr. Grossmann. Clinical evaluation and inserting the chest tube. Students remotely observing the procedure. A remote consultation with a cardiologist. Its clear that change iscoming to medicine and Digital health is part of the confluence of change that willre-imaginehealthcare from patient empowerment to educational tools. Todays medical students and others in training have the unique experience of having grown up with technology thatincludesthe PC, gaming and the smart phone. The extension of this to clinicalpracticewill not be arevolutionaryjump (as is for an older generation) but will be a natural evolution of the technology that has become second nature. And this technological convergence is just a few short years away as students are graduated and become the teachers. The role of Google Glass and other devices will become commonplace across the healthcare continuumand provide an essential clinical toolfrom the paramedic on location to advanced care and consultations. Google Glass changes our vision of healthcare and shortens this distance between the patient andcaregiver And its in that shortened distance andimmediacyof response that awaits the potentialopportunity to vastlyimprovecare, and in the final analysis, save lives.
